Welcome to Roysia Middle School

Roysia is a small middle school with a reputation for outstanding care, guidance and support.  We aim to provide a happy and secure environment in which all pupils are eager to learn and develop their abilities and are able to make sound moral choices.  This website will give you a taste of life at Roysia but we would urge you to visit in order to experience the atmosphere for yourself.

Royston School Academy Trust

The first Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in Hertfordshire was Royston School Academy Trust (RSAT), formed in November 2011, consisting of Greneway Middle School, Roysia Middle School and Meridian Upper School. This was formal recognition of the collaboration that has always been present across Royston schools. The aim of the Academy is to offer an excellent education to children in Royston and to lead our schools to even greater success.

In line with national trends and five years since our MAT was formed, we are working with the Department for Education to explore new academy structures that can meet Royston’s needs now and into the future.

The Trust Board have asked Mrs Rawlings, the Headteacher of Greneway, to become ‘Interim Head of Middle Schools’ for RSAT from January 2017. Mrs Jandu will take on the day to day leadership and management of Roysia Middle School.  This example of shared leadership builds on the strong collaborative practice developed since the inception of RSAT and highlights the forward-thinking approach that the Trust is taking in the next stage of its development.

We will work closely to maintain the ethos of Roysia while driving continuous reflection and improvement to ensure the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.
